Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, conducted a field visit to Baheya Hospital for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer, Sheikh Zayed branch, on the 6th of October City. During the visit, the minister inspected the completed hospital departments that provide medical services and those under construction and preparation. He also met with several officials from the Baheya Foundation and some of its staff, where they reviewed the operational mechanisms of the foundation's branches in the Haram and Sheikh Zayed areas since the Haram branch was established in March 2015.
The minister expressed his appreciation for this charitable medical institution, which originated from a humanitarian idea aimed at helping women and alleviating their psychological and financial burdens. He hoped for many models to emulate this humanitarian work as an exemplary symbol. He praised the scope of work at the hospital, which primarily aims to alleviate the burden on Egyptian women, commending the team at this charitable institution and affirming the Ministry of Health's commitment to providing all possible support to all institutions that serve patients.
The minister emphasized the state's interest in this issue for the benefit of Egyptian women, pointing to the successes achieved by the President's initiative to support women's health, which has increased the rates of early detection cases and reduced the progression to advanced stages. Early detection contributes to achieving recovery rates of up to 98%. He stressed the importance of the role of civil society in working with government institutions, underscoring that all heavenly religions advocate national work for humanity.
At the end of the visit, the Minister of Health and Population directed a study on the possibility of collaboration between the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer and the Oncology Center in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate to provide services to women patients with breast cancer. For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baheya Foundation, Engineer Tamer Shawky, said that this visit demonstrates the Ministry of Health's interest in the entire health sector, including Baheya Hospital, which provides its free services to Egyptian women who are the backbone of the Egyptian family.
This is achieved through raising awareness about the importance of early detection and providing free treatment in case a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as offering free psychological support during the recovery journey.
